You own the site, hosting and domain. The hosting is paid on a monthly basis as part of your selected monthly maintenance plan.
- Can we get issues resolved after hours? Who should we speak to with concerns about the website?

We have a 24 hour support line for urgent website issues. You can also contact your Website Consultant during business hours (9am-5pm or other hours agreed with them) with questions. You will also have access to our online training materials if you prefer to manage (edit, add, delete) content and web pages yourself.
- Can your company write table-less XHTML? Do you validate your code?

Yes, we only write table-less XHTML. Sugar Websites proudly supports and advocates Web Standards and validates all our code. A great free tool to validate code is available here, try it yourself: http://validator.w3.org/
- Do I have to host my website with Sugar?

We recommend hosting your website with Sugar on our secure, dedicated servers so that we can ensure that your site is always online and fully functional. However, if you require hosting on another server, we can provide you a Sugar ‘Standalone’ Website for an additional fee and limited support.
- Do I have to pay for making changes to my website?

We provide you with training to edit and add content to your website at any time. If you prefer for us to do that for you, select a monthly maintenance plan with the right amount of Website Management services to cover how often you need to make changes to your site.
- Do you help with search engine optimization and online marketing?

Yes, we offer strategic online marketing packages tailored to achieve the results your business needs to achieve online. Contact us or talk to your Website Consultant for more information.
- Does Sugar do online marketing too?

- How comfortable is your company with writing HTML entirely by hand?

We have experienced programmers capable of hand-coding HTML as required.
- How do you handle updates and version of the website software?

Sugar will handle updating your site for all new software versions and updates so that it is always functioning properly.
- How fast can I have my new website online?

Depending on how fast you review your website design and content, your website can be online in as few as 10 business days.
- How much are we paying for hosting? How much are we paying for software licensing, maintenance, and support? How much are we paying for ongoing content changes?

Hosting, maintenance, support and assistance with content management are combined into our monthly maintenance plans. Please see our plans for more details.
- How much of the total price is for graphic design work? How much of the total price is for functionality (software) development (includes training)? How much of the total price is for content (preparation and loading)?

Majority (approx 50%) of the price is for gathering the detailed business, marketing, design and functional requirements for your website and then planning and organizing your content – this is a fundamental step that most freelance web designers or developers do not do or do not have the skills or experience to do.
The other 50% is copywriting your webpage content, design (including search for photos and images), content insertion, development, testing, documentation and training.
- How will we report and track issues/trouble tickets?

Upon completion of your website set up you will be provided with email and phone contacts for website technical support and website content management.
- How will you regularly communicate the projects progress to us?

The progress of your website will be communicated to you regularly via your Sugar Website Consultant, whom you can call or email directly during business hours (9am-5pm) or as agreed with your Consultant.
- Is it possible for our website to be user friendly to hand held mobile devices such as cell phones? If so, what portions of the site will be friend to these devices?

Yes, your site comes with a mobile template that makes it easy for visitors to access all information from your website on their mobile device in an optimal way (eg. Fast loading, easy to navigate).
- Is my website portable? Can we move to another designer if your company goes out of business, etc? Will we be provided with a full copy of the website?

The website is not portable in its current form, i.e. It cannot be moved to another host or website agency without technical modifications. There is a $980 fee to have your website taken out of the Sugar website network so that it can work as a ‘standalone’ site hosted by another company. In the unlikely event that Sugar Websites went out of business, you would be provided with a full ‘standalone’ website at no additional cost.
- What happens if we find an error in the code a week or month after the website is completed?

Call or email us 24/7 and we will fix it for you. If the error is related to something you created when inserted or editing content yourself, you can refer to our online training materials or you can call or email us to have it fixed as part of your selected monthly maintenance plan.
- What happens if we need to change something during either the design or development phase?

Call or email your Website Consultant to advise them of any changes.
- What software does Sugar Websites use?

We use the WordPress Content Management System (CMS) because it is a very stable system with a large range of features that suit the needs of small businesses. According to a 2011 Web Technology Survey, WordPress is the most popular CMS for websites.
- Which browsers and what versions of those browsers will our site work for?

All popular browsers and versions. Your site will be automatically updated for each new browser version when it is released.
- Will we get the benefit of other customers investing in future upgrades of the software used to run our website or new features that are added?

Yes. When new features are added to the Sugar Website network, you will be notified and they will be available for your website as well. New features can be added as part of your selected monthly content management plan.
- Will we receive after-build services, such as website usage and search engine placement support?

Your site has Google analytics installed to track website traffic and your site will be listed with the major search engines as part of your initial website set up cost. Sugar does provide further search engine optimization (SEO) services at an additional cost. Please talk to your Sugar Website Consultant for packages and prices.
